Over 1000 cans collected school-wide for the Stirling Food Bank. Over $250.00 raised for World Vision. Bags of towels, blankets, and pet food accumulated for the Humane Society.  These are some of  the impressive accomplishments from your children this past week. We are so impressed by their ability to empathize with others and take action.  Please take a look at the tweets to the right containing photos of the kids with their projects.  Well done!  More projects are to come in the new year, supporting United Way and Free the Children.

HOME CONNECTION:  This past week we have heard some very interesting oral presentations about water issues around our globe.  From innovations such as recycling showers and balls that "create" water, to environmental disasters such as oil spills, to growing concern over issues such as flushing of pharmaceuticals, global warming, and lack of basic sanitation on a worldwide scale, we have been educated and entertained!  Well done!  Please speak with your son/daughter about these presentations.

Below is an interesting short video that we saw early this week about how the flushing of pharmaceuticals affects our water supply and our environment.
